2020 Banquet & Ball
Amid evening gowns and chandeliers,
the auctioneer's chant ends with SOLD from a unique list of select items.
Join us for a memorable evening under the twinkling lights at the annual Stockman's Ball honoring the 2020 Black Hills Stock Show Honorees. A selection of choice items, some new, and some old familiars of the Foundation, will be on the docket for the 27th Annual "Stockman's Auction" conducted during the banquet, taking place February 1st, 2020 at the Best Western Ramkota. Cocktails and Social Hour begin at 6pm, with the banquet at 7pm, followed by the Auction and presentation of this year's Honorees.
Other choice new items this year include artwork by Kathy Thompson portraying Burch Brothers' celebrated Bareback and Saddle Bronc Horse of the Year "Lunatic Fringe @ Days of '76", and a custom engraved Crown Noble Decanter with two matching glasses.
A sampling of returning items are the ever so popular wooden rocking chair from Freed's Fifth & Main Furniture, a framed watercolor print by renowned local artist Kathy Sigle, and exceptional Ed Lawrence handcrafted spurs donated by Mt. Rushmore Angus. There will also be a bred Angus Heifer from the Gilbert Angus Ranch and Brady Carmichael is providing a wool saddle blanket with hand-tooled leather corners.
Some of this year's highlights include the Tony Cytka bronze titled "School Days" and this year's BHSSF Commemorative Firearm is an Uberti 1873 Special Sporting Rifle, better know as "The Rifle that Won the West".
This piece of rifle history boasts case-hardened steel, "A" grade walnut stock and forend, with a 24 1/4" octagonal barrel. The rifle is chambered for a .44-.40 cartridge: a .44 caliber bullet, propelled by 40 grains of black powder.
The rifle is accompanied by a handcrafted Elkhide sleeve from K-J Leathers and the stock is engraved with the Black Hills Stock Show Foundation logo and year.
Rounding out this year's selections are a metalwork and hair on hide decorative wall hanging, and a unique metalcraft wall-mounted wine rack.
Last but definitely not least...we have a new version of an old favorite: a Wrangler Ladies' 2018 60th Annual NFR Leather Jacket, Ladies' size Medium.
So, shine your boots, and bring your best bidder's wave or new hat to tip, and we'll see you at the Ball
