Officers The nonprofit BHSS Foundation meets three times a year to plan its fundraising programs that support scholarships and annual grant awards. Its mission is to make tangible returns to the people, communities and industries that have and continue to support the Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo, established in 1958 by cattle producers and community leaders in and around Rapid City, SD.
Eleven elected members make up the BHSS Foundation board of Directors who represent a cross-section of interests and valuable input and resources. Directors serve three year terms with three members representing production agriculture; two members from agriculturally related business industries and six at-large members. In 2004, the Foundation expanded its representation by establishing Advisory positions. Selected to fill one year, non-voting terms are those who advance the Foundation’s mission and objectives in some manner, who desire to serve in active roles and who will positively represent the Foundation’s interests in professional and social engagements. For more information on how you
can become involved, call any of the Directors noted below or President
Lynn Husman.
