Dear Western Collector:

The 18th Cowboy Heritage Old West Collectors Auction is on the Black Hills Stock Show calendar, set for the Stock Show's first weekend on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The Black Hills Stock Show is scheduled for January 27th thru February 5th at the Rapid City, SD, Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The region's largest winter exposition, it features 10 days of PRCA Rodeo, livestock shows and sales, a major trade show and other related social, entertainment and cultural events.

Introduced in 1995, the Cowboy Heritage auction is, today, one of the Stock Show's most popular events. Sponsored annually by the Duhamel Co. and KOTA, Rapid City, this sale has played a significant role in expanding the market for western collectibles with support from consignors and buyers in 14 states.

The Old West Collectors Auction is a Black Hills Stock Show Foundation event whose objective is to raise funds supporting youth, education and agriculture. The Foundation annually sponsors scholarships, supports the Western Junior Livestock Show and awards annual grants to projects/organizations that contribute to the development of rural communities.

The Cowboy Heritage auctions have established a reputation for quality and integrity. Again, this will be a juried offering of 375 lots including American Cowboy, US Cavalry, antique guns, Western Art/Books and Old West Decorator. The Old West Collectors Auction is scheduled during the Stock Show's first weekend on Saturday, January 28th, at the Civic Center with a preview planned for the Friday night before on Jan. 27th. Our location in the Civic Center Theater has proven to work well.

Cowboy Heritage XVIII is being promoted through the Stock Show's advertising campaign. TV, radio and newspaper features, the BHSS Foundation website and a direct mailing to past buyers and National Bit, Spur and Saddle Collectors Association members.

Again we have another great offering. We will be offering an array of quality saddles, from collector saddles to fine quality using saddles. We are especially excited about our gun offering, including 40 Winchesters, some of collector quality and some of the most rare Winchesters around. We have 50 pair of spurs, some of them are really nice. The rest of the sale runs deep in quality and selection. "The Premium Cowboy Sale of the Northern Plains." We try to treat you as we would like to be treated, and remember - NO BUYERS PREMIUM!
