Black Hills Stock Show Foundation says thanks to service members RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Black Hills Stock Show Foundation hosted a military appreciation luncheon for Soldiers and Airmen from the South Dakota National Guard and Ellsworth Air Force Base on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Stockman's Club in Rapid City. The foundation honored the 23 service members for their sacrifice and service to their country, treating the Soldiers and Airmen to a lunch buffet and public thanking them for their willingness to serve. "We appreciate the support of the Black Hills Stock Show Foundation in recognizing us for our service," said Capt. Anthony Deiss, of Rapid City, public affairs specialist for the South Dakota National Guard. "Every time a person on the street or a civilian organization says 'thank you' it makes me realize even more the importance of our service to this state and nation. I'm proud to serve people like that."
