A great place to hang your hat! It’s increasingly where you’ll also find business seminars, media forums and service organization programs that offer a mix of entertainment and industry. “We encourage club members to bring along guests who can learn more about all a membership to the Foundation’s Stockman’s Club has to offer,” says Foundation Vice President Doug Theel. “With western memorabilia displays, the dining room that features works from Crazy Horse Memorial, along with stock show historical information, it’s a nice stop in a busy stock show schedule.” An annual banquet location for the Black Hills Angus Association, the club will also feature a Land and Agriculture Issues Seminar by Gunderson, Palmer, Goodsell & Nelson on Tuesday, February 1 beginning at noon with lunch, followed by the program at 1:30 p.m. “If you’re interested in property rights and multiple use issues, this program addresses those areas of right-of-ways, easements, transferring land, open fields and boundary issues,” says Foundation President Joe Norman, who points out that, “these are no long just ranch/farm issues – these are economic and community development issues – that affect the general population.” The Rapid City Chamber of Commerce Ag and Natural Resource Committee will host a luncheon Wed., February 2 and the remainder of the week features specially designated days including National Guard/Military Appreciation Day on Thurs., February 3; Media Appreciation Day on Fri., February 4 and Brand Inspector Appreciation Day, Sat., February 5. “We’re continually fine-tuning the details on many of these events,” says Norman. “I would encourage people to stop by the Club or check various schedules for updated information.” A live radio and web broadcast from the Stockman’s Club on Thurs., February 3 will feature radio personality and former state senator Jim Thompson with guests.
