Names that made the
American West.....
Cowboy Heritage X: Old West Collector’s Auction
*Sponsors/Donors: KOTA, Rapid City Regional
Hospital, Dakota Craft Building Supply, Ramkota Best Western/Minervas,
Flat Creek Saddlery, BHSS Foundation
It was standing room only for this unique auction that
attracts buyers from around the country in search of western memorabilia.
Quality consignments and a first-class presentation come into play for the
Foundation fundraising event held February 6-7, at the Rushmore Plaza
Civic Center, Rapid City, SD.
Items are purchased and/or guest consignments accepted
throughout the year that are then placed for sale. Once sold, the sale
commission goes to the Foundation’s scholarship programs, making this a
truly one-of-a-kind event.
Win Bauer, Newell, SD, who along with Foundation
Director Jay George, chairs the event, notes, “This is not only an auction
but a social and educational event as well. Buyers from coast to coast and
Canada were strong bidders throughout the sale that offered what could
really be characterized as a great selection of history.”
Final results are not complete as yet. The Foundation
estimates that a sales commission NET of $6,000 to $6,500 will be realized
and will fund three youth scholarships.
